Clocking in and out, and taking breaks

  4. Clocking out

You clock in with one tap on the home screen of the Clocknet app, and the timer starts right away. The app saves the clock-in on your phone first, so it works with or without signal.

In short

Tap Clock in when you start, Break when you stop for a while, and Clock out when you're done. The app runs the timer and any location check for you.

Starting your shift

When you get to your site, open the app and tap Clock in. Your workspace may add 2 checks. With a geofence, the app checks that you're at the site and tells you how far away you are if you aren't. With face verification, it asks for a quick selfie and checks it against your enrolled face. Unless your workspace keeps selfies for a set number of days, the photo is deleted after the check. Once you're clocked in, the timer shows when you started and how long you've been working.

Taking a break

Tap Break when you stop for lunch or a rest, and Resume work when you're back. Each break shows on your timesheet with its start and end. Your workspace's pay rules decide which breaks are paid.

Switching projects

If your workspace tracks projects, tap Switch while you're clocked in to pick another project or task. Switch moves the whole running time entry to the new project, including the time already on it. To split your day between 2 projects, clock out and clock in again when you change.

Clocking out

At the end of your shift, tap Clock out. The time entry closes with its start and end times, your breaks, and the result of any location or face check. If you're offline, the app keeps it on your phone and sends it when you're back online. The sync status shows "Synced" once the server has it.
